Announcement from the Los Angeles Times
Known best for his pioneering film "Easy Rider," Dennis Hopper died Saturday of prostate cancer at the age of 74 in his home in Venice Beach.
Hopper, who made his debut opposite James Dean in the classic "Rebel Without a Cause" in 1955, reached a younger generation decades later with roles in "Apocalypse Now," "Hoosiers" and "Blue Velvet."

This a a tragedy the man battled demons some of the same ones I have battled and unlike many was able to take it one step at a time to get through to the other side. His career had a great resurgence in the last decade or two and he is an icon of the motorcycling community and will be forever. He will be missed.
