H.O.G. Million Mile Monday

The people in Milwaukee asked the Harley Owners Group members to log the number of miles they rode on Monday June 30 to their web site. The goal was to log one million miles among all of the members. My initial reaction was that it was not much of a goal. They have over a million members, so if 5 percent logged 20 miles they would meet the goal. The web page had a running odometer so you could see the accumulated miles as they were entered. The cut-off was noon on Tuesday to post the miles and the ending miles are shown in the picture above. Bill Ballantyne lead a group of Kirkwood HOG members on an Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 where they rode one thousand miles on that day. They had 11 people that made the 1,063 mile trip, once again the St Louis area riders did their part in far surpassing the meager goal set by the guys in Milwaukee.
