Motorcycle Stuff This Weekend
Welcome to August I guess a day early. From the looks of the calendar not too many folks want to put an event up against Sturgis. There is a poker run sponsored by the Piasa Gateway Chapter of ABATE sign up is on the third at the Runway Lounge in Bethalto, IL from 11 to 1 PM. Tonight is of course Bike Night at Geo's wings on West Main St in Belleville, IL. Tmorrow the deal is at Bottles N Throttles in Wentzville, MO stop in and see what Chuck has planned for your entertainment. It is also Bike Night at Fatboys in De Soto, MO. I was there last week and it is quite the place to be. This coming Tuesday will be the first Two Wheel Tuesday event at No-Jacks in Smithton, IL. This place is right on 159 and the owner is going out of his to help us bikers have a great place to go on a Tuesday. And Finally mark your calendars now next Sunday the 10th is our 5th Anniversary Party and Poker Run. Sign up for the Poker Run is either at the South County Show-Mes, the St Charles Show-mes or the Fairview Heights Show-Mes from 11 to 12:30 and we will all end up at Fairview Heights, IL for the party. Don't forget the first 200 to sign up for the poker run get free wings at the end. Oh and last but certainly not least this Saturday is the 2nd of the five weeks of the Moonlight TT ( or Tavern to Tavern) Poker Run sign up this week is at Gallagher's in Freeburg from 6 to 7 come out and bring your friends the proceeds go to the Belleville, IL Battered Women's Shelter. We did not have a large crowd last week but we did have large fun.

I can't really blame organizations for not wanting to put anything up against the rally... I mean, half a million people will be at the rally, there will be no one left to go anywhere else! Have you ever been to Sturgis? I have not. I confess I'm pretty new to motorcycle culture; I just started working as a brand ambassador for Progressive motorcycle insurance, and since then I've become really interested in it. We're actually going to be at Sturgis, which is awesome! We'll be giving away free shirts at our booth at Thunder Road, plus having a drawing to win a custom Sucker Punch Sally's motorcycle. It's beautiful, kind of old school. The shirts are also really nice, exclusive to Sturgis and absolutely free. If you want to pick one up while you're there, you just go to http://motorcycle.progressive.com ahead of time to download the coupon, then come by our booth to drop it off and say hi! Be sure to bring the coupon though; we can only give you a free shirt if you have one. We're going to have other cool giveaways too, so it should be a fun time.

Went by Bottles & Throttles last Friday night (8/1) about 7 and the parking lot was empty. What's the deal?
Seems like everyone is overlooking the St. Clair ABATE poker run and party this Saturday. It starts at Gallagher's in Freeburg (sign-up 11-12)and will end up there for a mad party after an 80 miles run. There is going to be a strong man ($100.00), hot dog bite ($50.00) and a pickle spitting contest ($50.00). There also will be numerous door prizes. Gallagher's will be providing a DJ. ABATE has worked real hard to make this run a sucess and the weather will be sunny with a high of 83. Hope to see ya' out there!!!
