This Weekends Events

Lots to d this weekend. Truly the first weekend of summer why not start it out ongiht by coming out to Cadillac Jacks The Main Event will be playing and it looks like the weather will be awesome. Then on Saturday there are a bunch of really good rides. The Bush Pilots are also having their 4th of July party at their clubhouse. We ill probably be on the Brianna Bosick Ride leaving Chasers Saturday around noon. Then on Sunday we invite you to come to Geo's between 11 and 12:30 and sign up for the Latter Carriers Ride to Benefit MDA. Also our friends the Salty Dawgs are having a run to these are great folks. Whatever you do have fun and be safe and thanks for making us part of your biking life.

Happy Fathers Day

We wish all the dads out there and the step-dads like myself the best of Fathers Days today. It hasn't always been easy and dads do not seem to get quite as much appreciation as oms but I for one cherish my relationship with my father.

Cadillac Jack's Tonight

This is what promises to be one of the biggest bike nights in the St Louis area tonight we will be giving away 2008 The Biking Life DVDs while they last. Jim and Joy owners of The Biking Life will be here and music will be provided by the band Throttle come on out and party at St Louis's original biker bar.

Happy Father's Day Wishes and Rides on Saturday

If you read my editorial this month you know I have in some small part passed on my Father's Day wishes. I will also touch base on Father's Day. I hope that all of you have an opportunity to wish your Fathers the best this Sunday. Being able to time from time recognize my parents and the many friends that have helped me over the years is one of the truly cool things about doing the magazine. As is being able to help many of the local charities and veterans groups. The biking Life has always been about giving back to the community.

Hey even though Sunday there is not a whole lot going on there are a bunch of fun things to do on Saturday. They include a benefit for Mike Shannon sign up is at Shannon's Pub in Tilden, Il, then there is the Hartbauer/McBride Dance Party this year at two location Cadillac Jack's on the St Charles Rock Rd and at the Moose Lodge in Alton, IL, the Illinois party features music by Hush and Mack's creek will be playing in Missouri. Southern Illinois Choppers in New Athens will be having an Open House which should be fun and there is also a BACA Ride with sign up at Crehan's and finally the Maryville, IL Firefighters are having a ride for MDA sign up at BS Boogies.

It's also becoming apparent that once again people cannot wait to get to the real biker party.

Great Day

It has dawned an awesome day. Joy and I are getting ready to meet some friends for breakfast before heading out to The Motorhead's Kenny Hoffman Memorial Poker Run. Sign up is in Marine, IL, another great ride today for a good cause is the Make A Wish Ride. I was out at the event for a while yesterday. We did some miles yesterday and I had the pleasure of meeting Maggie May and her family a very courageous group. We will be represented at this event by John Skala, Monty and Beth. We encourage you to take part.

Excellent Weather for Ride For Wishes

The weatherman is forecasting a great riding day on Sunday. Join us at the Sara Lee Complex on Rider Trail S. (next to the Holiday Inn north of I-70 at the Earth City Expressway exit) for the Second Annual Ride For Wishes. All proceeds go to granting wishes for children in our area with life threatening medical conditions.

For details go to mo.wish.org or the ride registration web site. Ride registration is 9:00 AM to noon with a police escorted ride leaving at 12:30 PM

In addition to the ride, there is a bike show and a car show on Saturday with bands, vendors, silent auctions and fun for the kids on both days.

Another Awesome Night at Geo's

Once again Geo's demonstrated why it is the bike night everyone wants to come to. We had a great turnout, saw lots of friendly faces. Karen's game as always was entertaining and we thank Tom and Chris from Decatur for stopping in and visiting. The weather was perfect and we look forward to many more enjoyable evenings with our friends.
