The Hallmark of The Biking Life Consistency

We will soon be celebrating our 6th anniversary in fact our June issue will conclude our 6th year. We have been consistent throughout. Some of that has to do with me. I am the founder and the editor, yes for 6 years now we have had steady leadership, now maybe it wasn't always good but it was consistent.

The Biking Life has guiding principles and a belief in a right way to do business and treat people. I feel that these principles and beliefs have been a pillar of our success. Am I a saint heck no I am Irish and can be cocky and sometimes I don't know when to shut up. That said I make deals with people and I keep them. I try to treat everyone as i would like to be treated and I have been paid back with some very rich and rewarding relationships with a bunch of new friends.

I have made the magazine be about you, not about the advertisers. The advertisers get their reward for their support when you patronize them and let them know you learned about them through The Biking Life. When you do that it aids me tremendously because it lets these business owners know that their money is well spent. I thank you for your support and appreciate that you let us be part of your biking life.

What To Do On Your Scoot in the Days Ahead

The weekend is upon us and everyone knows Thursday is the new start of the weekend and though it is very cloudy it looks like the rain has passed us for today and into the weekend. That being the case you will find us tonight at Geo's Wings on West Main St in Belleville, IL. This is a fun place to hang out and visit with your buddies. I hope to see you there. Then later on no matter where you've been this evening there is no better place to finish the night but with a stop at PT's Showclub in Centreville, IL for their Bike Night free admission and $3 domestic beers that is unheard of at a gentlemen's club and there is also safe and secure parking for your bike just outside the front door. Saturday will definitely find us at the Freedom Run sign up is at the Outside Inn in New Baden. this is not only a great ride but also a celebration of those that have and those that are serving this nation. We hope to see you there. Thanks for making us part of your biking life.

This Just In

I was just sent an email with this being the text.I do not know if it is true or not but consider this a word to the wise and check your noise levels up near Hannibal. Sounds like another money grab, especially with there being no way to determine the loudness other than the officers judgment.

The city of Hannibal Missouri has decided to target all Harley Davidson motorcycles. Their noise ordinance is being enforced supposedly by public sentiment. It is purely a judgment call by the officers. No decibel meters or anything like that! Just an officer’s judgment!
They are stopping bikes right and left and the warning period is over....the fine is $135.00. Second offense up to $500.00.
I guess America's Hometown doesn't want bikers in their town! Come at your own risk!

Tonight and thee Weekend Past

First I thank all of you who have served our nation and I should have done this yesterday. We went to Springfield, IL for the mile. The racing was awesome and no trip to Springfield is complete without a stop at Hall's Harley Davidson, and Dude's Saloon. It was cool we ran into several people we knew some Motorhead's, Tim from the Vietnam Vet's MC and Bonnie, Mike Case, Ida Rios and Patty Bush. Patty had a super day as the racer she sponsors Flying Bryan Smith won the main and our congratulations go out to her and also to him for their hot fought victory over Chris Carr and Kenny Coolbeth.

Today is Tuesday and that means time for Two-Wheel Tuesdays at No-Jacks in Highway 159 in Smithton, IL. I hope to be there but it all depends on far I am in putting the magazine together. But even if I can't be there, you can enjoy the drink specials and the great people that run and hang out at this location.

Memorial Day Thoughts

As we honor those that paid the ultimate price and gave their lives for our great country, our thoughts and prayers are also with those that are now serving in all branches of the armed services. We pray that they may return home safely to their loved ones.
If you have someone special that you would like us to include in our prayers by name, please add their name in the comments.

Show-Me's Last Night and then on to the Weekend

Wow last night as Show-Me's was great we had a very diverse group of bikes and people. We got a number of Harley/cruiser guys but we got a bunch of very hot sport bikes. The folks all seemed to have a lot of fun and this promises to be a summer of fun at Show-Me's. We are looking into some ways to make this even better. Come on out and party with us.

Also tonight is of course Bike Night at Geo's Wings on West Main St in Belleville, IL comeout and see the area's biggest and best weekly bike night. Also afterward if you've been to Geo's or Bikers Corner or after the Hardriders Ride come on over and party with the lovely ladies from PT's Showclub in Centreville, IL at Hwy 13 and Hwy 157. I checked this out last week and they have motorcycle parking right in front of the building with one of their security people dedicated to watching the lot. Your bike is safe here this place is run by motorcyclists who understand how to make this a great night for you, with free admission for riders and $3 beers. Come start the weekend off right.

Thursday Night Highlights

Well this has been a busy week so far. Tuesday we went to Smithton, IL for No-Jacks first bike night of the year and though it was Cinco De Mayo they still had a nice crowd. No-doubt because of those awesome $9 buckets of beer and the $2 margueritas. This is a fun place to go so plan now to meet your friends here next Tuesday. Last night we hung out at Show-Mes in Fairview Heights at their Wingsday Bike Fest for a while the people there are going out of their way to accommodate us, blocking off the front parking area and having one of their hottest waitresses taking car of us. The 10 wings for $3.5 can't be beat any where so come check this out. Also remember if you ride we may use a picture of your bike with a Show-Me girl on it in one of their upcoming ads. I wasn't able to get to Hot Shots or the Jamm IN but intend to next week if you were there make a comment and let me know how it was.

Tonight is Thursday which can ,ean only one thing Geo's Wings on West Main in Belleville, IL. This is a staple and somewhere to come with old friends or make new ones. Also tonight officially kicks off the Thursday Night Bikers Delight at PT's Showclub in Centreville, IL. Riders get in free here and they are offering $3 domestics so come out make this your last stop and let some of the lovely lassies from PT's entertain you. See you somewhere

Congratulations to Michael Symon

Michael Symon, the motorcycle riding Iron Chef from the Food Network, has won the prestigious James Beard Foundation award for his Cleveland restaurant, Lola.

So what kind of Tat did you expect for a chef? He has mutton, beef and pork on one leg and skulls and flames on the other leg.

Midwest Motorcycle Swap Meet 2

Plans are now in place for our second swap meet this will be Sunday July 26th at Jack's Iron Horse Bar and Grill on the St Charles Rock Rd in Bridgeton. Bike Nights Start in Earnest This week

If the weather cooperates then this should be the start of some very busy weeks for us here at The Biking Life. We have bike nights going on throughout the area almost every night of the week. At most of these we will try to have a representative there but that cannot always be the case. I encourage you to check these out there are some new players that will not take your business for granted and I think should be a lot of fun. This is Mother's Day weekend but if you are looking for something to do there is still a lot on the calendar. As always please patronize our advertisers. They make this possible.
