Saturday we held another very successful swap meet in Hannibal, MO. The attendance was great and there was a fantastic array of vendors. This event was so successful we were honored by it being covered by WGEM-TV for their news cast below is a link to the text version we will strive to get their video if possible. But before that I want to thank all who came those from the tri-state region as well as the many friends I saw from closer to home. Stay tuned we are already planning our next event. Who knows where it will be!!!!

Informational Email

This was sent to me by an Illinois ABATE member:
The village of Panama, IL has decided to screw with visitors, so
they are resurrectiong an old ordinance forbidding any parking on the south
side of main street (across the street from the VFW) from corner to stop
sign. The village police officer has been instructed to ticket all, with no
warnings. Please pass this info on. We dont want any of our friends or
visitors getting screwed over.

Just a word to the wise and I look for more notices like this as various jurisdictions look to make up the dollars they are not getting from other taxes now. Be careful this year I think we already pay enough taxes anyway.

Less Than A Week Till MY Swap Meet

I can hardly believe it but less than a week from today will be our third swap meet. This one will be in Hannibal, MO and since it is a The Biking Life event you know everyone one is welcome all we ask in return is that all attendees respect everyone else. We are sold out of vendor spots the response was overwhelming. I think you are going to like what you see to we have a lot of parts vendors and only two true leather vendors of course headlined by our friends at Black Jack Leather. The Professor will also be there selling glasses and skull rags, K-Bar the patch man, trailer dealers, bikes and did I mention a whole lot of parts. Plus a special appearance by none other than the Mowhawk Man. The weather looks promising so why not plan on a road trip to the Admiral Coontz Rec Center, 301 Warren Barrett, in Hannibal, MO for a day of fun, value and camaraderie. I look forward to seeing you there, we are also partnering with Mugshots for libations and this is a great bar.

This is no extravanganza this is an old school parts swap meet.

A View From The Other Side Of The River

After seeing Jim's post from his ride on Jan 1, I had to post a shot from the FORR Local 25 Freeze Out Ride on the same day. We met at Kokomo's in St Peters, MO as usual. From there we headed west to Culpeppers in Wentzville. When we got ready to leave, it started snowing. It was a challenging 30 miles riding back home.

New Years Day Riding

Welcome to 2010 today I met up with an intrepid group of souls at the Belleville, IL Denny's on ILL 159, the riders were Mike Steve, some friends of theirs Darryl and Leslie and some friends of theirs. We rode out to Smitty's in New Athens to watch people take part in their Annual Polar Bear Plunge. This sot was taken outside Denny's and shows most of the folks we rode with today. We had a great, albeit chilly time. Best wishes for the New Year and thanks for making us part of your biking life.
