Happy Thanksgiving

I would like to take a moment before we all get busy with our own Thanksgiving things to wish all of you and yours all the best this Thanksgiving. Hopefully you will be able to spend it with your family;s but there are many who will not get to see loved ones on this holiday. I know because I have been one of those. So tomorrow when you take minute to think of all your blessings remember those who are watching out for us far away. Have a great holiday and be safe so you can tell me about it and as always thanks for letting us be a part of your biking life.

Stuff To Do This Weekend

The Old School Tattoo Expo is coming back to town and will kick off on Friday. This is really cool and a nice place to hang out. This years star attraction is Danny Trejo. The event is at the Holiday Inn Express on 9th St just behind the Edward Jones Dome.

Also on Friday night is the Brawl in the Ballroom. This will be held at Fischer's on West Main St in Belleville, IL. Jim Boucher always puts one a good card and this should be no different. I hope to see you here.

A Salute to All Our Nation's Veterans

I send this salute to all my brother and sister veterans. I know first hand the sacrifices you have made to keep our nation secure. I know the long hours without sleep, I know that you continued to slog it out no matter the weather, be it raining, snowing, sand storms or whatever you kept on doing your job. I readily acknowledge that many have made far greater sacrifices than myself. But we are or were all service members and therefore go where our orders take us. So once again to all service members our hats are off to you.

I've Been Hearing

You know I've been hearing for years that the magazine wouldn't last. Well here we are 7 1/2 years in and we are completing our most successful year ever. We also just had our best swap meet. It is almost Thanksgiving and I am truly grateful for the support you have shown us over the years. I am also grateful for all the loyal advertisers that have been with us for years and our new ones as well. I ask all of you to support our advertisers as much as possible during the upcoming Christmas season. It is their support that allows us to provide you with this magazine for free.

Veterans Parade Ride and Swap Meet

Getting ready to ride to Geo's to ride with a group to observe the Veteran's Day Parade in St Louis. We are meeting there at 10:30 and should be kickstands up around 10:45 to 10:50. Come out and show your support for our nations' Veteran's.

The swap meet is a definite go for tomorrow Sunday. We have some vendors that haven't been to this area in a while. I am really excited about this. I think we have the best mix of vendors ever and the weather looks super so come out and join us. If you have heard any rumors about the swap meet please tell me who you heard them from.

Often Imitated

Never Duplicated, that used to be a slogan for a product in the 60s and it still applies today to The Biking Life. There are some who imitate the things that we have done but it is hard when you came on the scene after the original to do anything that hasn't already been done. Now it seems some have decided that I am a well enough known public figure to lampoon me. That is cool and something I am sure some never have to worry about experiencing.
