We had Joy's kids and their families over for Thanksgiving yesterday so that we could go to my parents today. As we were sitting at the dinner table one of Joy's daughters said why don't we all say what we are thankful for. She suggested that her 6 year old nephew start it and he said a couple of things and then he said and Jim. I tell you it doesn't get any better than that. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving also.Your friend Jim

Happy Thankssgiving
I wish all of you a happy and safe Thanksgiving from all of us here The Biking Life. I know many will be traveling, I know many will be overeating as I just have and I know many of you will be spending good times with family and friends. I also ask that during this holiday we take a moment and think of those who for whatever reason cannot be with there family for Thanksgiving and wish for blessings for them too. Take care and We'll see you on the road weather looks promising for the weekend.

Remembering the Troops
the XEROX corporation is sending electronic cards to our soldiers wherever they are stationed. If you could take a second out of your busy day and go to this link I am sure it will brighten a service members day somewhere and will probably brighten yours as well. Especially during the holidays it is important that the troops know we do not forget them. I remember getting cards from school children while I was away from home over the holidays and how it lifted my spirits for a while now we have the opportunity to pay it forward to someone else.

St Louis Veteran's Day Parade
First I want to thank all who came out and showed their support for our Veteran's. Especially those who took part in the rides from the various starting locations. I want to thank all of my friends who met me at Geo's Wings in Belleville, IL where we had a nice little group leave from. Where the bikers were was the most populated place on the route with the exception of the viewing stand. I also though it was very cool that there were well known radio celebrities who came out and showed their support in a private way. I think that says a lot about who they are and how they roll. Then the amount of bikes in the parade was awesome the Vietnam Vets MC was represented, Kirkwood HOG and Gateway to the West HOG and the Patriot Guard Riders.
Then I went home to watch the news, I knew I was going to see bikers portrayed as the supporters of America that we all know they are. They would surely be shown showing their support for the troops but oh no that was not to be. That doesn't fit the whole "Sons of Anarchy" bad boy/girl image they want to show. Their lets scare the rest of the Americans by depicting motorcyclists in a bad light, they know that most people won't look at the percentage of bikers who are Vet's and are patriots. The powers that be are afraid of Patriots, it doesn't matter about party affiliation it is a fear that some good Americans want to get this country back on the right path.
I ask two things of you who read this. One is to call the tv stations, the radio stations and the newspapers and tell them you are tired of bikers being portrayed as a bunch of hell raisers and criminals and two come out this Saturday to Rockers in House Springs, MO for the "Colors" of Fall Freedom Fest. You know that since The Biking Life is involved all bikers are welcome. There will be speakers, from the AMVETS, JPAC ( these are the folks that work diligently to get the remains of American who have lost their lives overseas returned to this country so that their families can have some peace and closure), ABATE and special guest the "Mowhawk" Man. There is going to be a lot of fun stuff going on to but this fun will be in celebration of more serious issues. Also please bring an unwrapped toy for a needy child for Christmas. Thanks for making us part of your biking life.
