Well if you are then you need to go to youtube.com and then enter TBL Sturgis 06 and you will see one of the clips from our 2006 DVD and while there you can check out some other clips from that DVD. If that really fires your curiosity then you can order one from our webpage. I hope you stayed dry this weekend and had fun no matter what you did. Of all the things I did today and yesterday the dedication of the Fallen Biker Memorial in Roxana, IL was truly moving and and I am glad I made it there for this event.
Sunday, March 30, 2008Motorcycle Pictures Galore
Alright that is no doubt an over statement. However with the help of John Skala we have added several new folders of pictures and plan to add more here in the new future. So if you saw us at an event and didn't read about it in the magazine or didn't see yourself in the pictures we posted that may change soon. Thanks for your support over the years and I am about ready to go check out the world of motorcycle enthusiasts today.
Friday, March 28, 2008Good News and Bad News in the Motorcylcing WorldWell kind of. The good news is that Dave 'Monty' Monachella is doing better and has been moved into a room at St Anthony's. He is now in room 7108 and if you are a friend or a colleague I am sure he would welcome a visit. That is extremely good news. The bad news and this pisses me off is I just got off the phone with the printer. They have had some equipment break downs which means to you and me that the delivery of the magazine has been delayed but they tell me they have hopes of getting them to me by Tuesday. I just sent a blistering email to my rep because I understand that issues arise. It has happened to me but I think they could have been more upfront about what was going on. Because they were supposed to be here on Wednesday and then I was told today and now I'm told Tuesday. Boy that irks me. I hope all is well with you folks and I'll catch you down the road. Oh by the waywhenever they get here this is what the cover will look like. Wednesday, March 26, 2008New Motorcycle Pictures
Well no not really but for those of you who dog me out for not posting any new pictures to the website and you are right I should. Just tonight I posted some from the Festus Hog New Years Party. The new magazine is at the printer and should be hitting the streets on Friday. I will make a better effort to get more current pictures on the website. Two different American Legion Riders Chapters are having poker runs this weekend check out our events page for more details also one of my personal favorites the FORR Leather and Lace dance takes place Saturday night in Pacific, MO. Sunday is also the Outlanders Bike Blessing in Roxanna IL park this is one of the nicer blessings and later on that day the new Show-Mes in South County on Lemay Ferry Rd is hosting the pre-party for the Annual Arthritis Ride. We will be checking out as many of these events as possible.
On a much sadder note Dave Monty Monachella of our staff is in the hospital this evening in the ICU Unit at St Anthony's. Dave is just not a stalwart of the magazine but also the entire biker community. If you don't know him by name I know you know him by face especially if you attend the Biker For Babies Ride he is consistently one of the top fund raisers and he works his ass of to do it. Dave suffered a stroke and is doing poorly if you could remember him in your prayers I would appreciate it. Tuesday, March 25, 2008Supercross Update
Supercross is coming to The Edward Jones Dome in St Louis soon! It is later this year than in the past. There will be only be one more round of races between St Louis and the finals in Vegas. I thought Chad Reed might be able to win the title here, if he was far enough out front in the points. But the race is still pretty tight with Kevin Windham only 17 points behind. If you haven't been to a Supercross race yet, you should check it out on April 19th. Tickets are available at Donelson's and other Yamaha dealers. For more info check out the web site:

My apologies I had some personal issues about the time this needed to be in and then to compound it the printer had some issues too. All that said the magazine has been on the web for a few days although you had to know to look in the past issues tab to find it. I also am not sure what has become of my web guy although in some instances I didn't keep up my side of the bargain that said, I do have some background in the field of computers and am learning about this stuff as we speak. I have figured out some of it, at least he set it up so a dummy could do it but I haven't either figured it all out or haven't had time to get it up to our usual standard.
I and my associates will be out, starting tomorrow when the magazines arrive, dropping this month;s issue at all your favorite haunts until then you can check out the March issue by clicking on the image of the cover which looks like this picture on the left and it will bring up a pdf of the whole version. This is something we have done since our inception five years ago and not something we consider to be cutting edge. Thanks for your patience Jim. Also I am well on my way towards putting the April issue together so this will not happen again. Tuesday, March 4, 2008Bikers - As Seen By Main Stream Media
A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.
A reporter has seen the whole scene, and addressing the biker, says: "Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life." "Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger and acted as I felt right." "Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow's papers will have this on the first page. What motorcycle do you ride?" "A Harley Davidson." The journalist leaves. The following morning, the biker buys the paper to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on the front page: BIKER GANG MEMBER ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH. |
